Personal Message from Frances Atkins: Business as Usual at The Yorke Arms
Dear Guests and Friends,
As many of you know, we have recently sold our much-loved Yorke Arms to Yorkshire entrepreneur, Jonathan Turner. Over the past few weeks, we have had a number of calls and emails enquiring as to what is happening, including whether the restaurant and rooms are open and indeed, whether I will stay on as Chef.
I am delighted to announce that not only is the restaurant open as usual, but that, alongside the wonderful team we have at The Yorke Arms (including General Manager, John Tullett, Head Chef, Roger Olive and Kirsty Beverley who looks after housekeeping), I will also be remaining in my capacity as Chef and very much at the forefront of the day-to-day running of The Yorke Arms.
We were all set to embark for pastures new, but Jonathan’s deep-rooted love of Yorkshire, his style and panache are very infectious and it really struck a chord with me. He has a genuine enthusiasm to create something even more special here and we hit it off straight away. I am thrilled to be part of his new team as we set out to deliver new, exciting plans for The Yorke Arms.
Many of you have dined at The Yorke Arms for years, and I want to reassure you that Jonathan’s vision for an incredible, sensitive refurbishment programme is going to be something very, very special. We share a desire to enhance everything about The Yorke Arms, intent on retaining all the charm that has kept our loyal guests coming back for decades whilst elevating the restaurant and rooms. With Jonathan’s current portfolio including the remarkable Bowcliffe Hall and stunning Laudale Estate in Scotland, I have no doubt what we will achieve will be exceptional.
From myself, Bill and all the team (old and new!), we look forward to welcoming you for many years to come.
Frances, Bill and the team.
