Bizarre rock formations, caves, caverns, stalagmites and stalactites in the surrounding area of The Yorke Arms have been drawing enthusiasts of geology through their power to fascinate and inspire. Brimham Rocks affords some of the most peculiar rock formations to be found with spectacular "stacks" of millstone grit carved out over many thousands of years by the actions of the weather.
Malham Tarn Estate is known for its rugged upland and classic limestone scenery, and for the UK's largest dry waterfall, a 250ft sheer drop. At Bridestones strange rocks rise out of the heather moorland. Depths plunge to 80 feet in places at How Stean Gorge (Yorkshire's "Little Switzerland").
Go deep underground where amazing shapes and weird rock formations mesmerise at Stump Cross Caverns, a great tourist attraction.
